The day before….

It’s Monday night and I’m nervous about tomorrow.  It’s time for the results from the latest PSA tests.  I’m not sure what to expect. gulp  I’m hoping that the levels have dropped from the previous 0.7 levels of the last two tests.... I will be happy if they are still at 0.7.... The problem is that all I can think about is that they will be higher!!  Wish me luck. question

I Think We’re Ready….

I’ve uploaded the last few linked pages....  I still have a little work here and there, such as adding the links to some of my favorite sites… but that is for another day.

Take a look around....  if you have questions, feel free to e-mail me. I’ll do my best to answer your questions.

I’ll keep posting any new info here.  Until then.....

Week 2…

Things are slowly coming together.  I had some computer problems that caused me to lose some time.  I did manage to get the “ABOUT” page done and uploaded.  I have done some work on a few of the others and will hopefully get most of the other pages done by the beginning of next week.

I’m finally able to get in some good workouts....  I really have to work on improving my stamina.  If the weather holds a bit longer I’ll get a few more outdoor rides in.  I’m also trying to get the trainer set up inside.  I’m really enjoying being back on the bike and back in the gym on a regular basis.  grin

Cycling For Life

This website was started to support my effort in raising both awareness of and money for prostate cancer.

In December of 2004, at the age of 46, I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer.  The doctors did not offer me a lot of hope for a cure.... but instead said they could extend my life expectancy with treatment.  At that time I decided to educate myself as much as possible so that I could battle the disease.  I thought I knew a lot about prostate cancer.... but it turns out I knew very little.... and that’s because it’s not talked about much and there is conflicting information available.

While in the hospital for a lymph node biopsy I decided that I would try to make guys aware. Armed with correct, up-to-date info I plan to ride across Canada on my bike; stopping along the way to share my story and the information I have acquired over the past number of months. I also am hoping to raise money for The Prostate Centre, the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) and the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF).

I have added a few links to some of the best information sites that I have found, as well as information on the bike trip, my bio and requests for donations. I will update this page from time to time.... mostly with events that are happening in my life as I get ready to take on this ride. Please come back and check up on how things are going.
