Cycle for Life… registered

After weeks of waiting, making changes to the site and a few other things, Cycle for Life is now a registered Charitable Organization....  Still can’t give out tax receipts, but we are recognised as a Charitable Organization.  The fun begins.  Time to open up a bank account and get the money transfered from the holding account into it.  One of many hurdles out of the way....

Until next time....

We made the paper….

Diagnosis of prostate cancer won’t keep firefighter down

The interview I did last week with Chris is in the Lethbridge Herald today.  I read it on-line today after hearing about it on the radio.  I’ll be heading out soon to get a copy for the scrapbook.

Country 95.5 FM has been giving us a lot of airtime which we need.  It started again yesterday when another listener called them to ask about the Aaron Lines concert.... they’ve been airing it a lot since then.

I’ve heard that ticket sales are going pretty good.... could be better, but it’s still early....  It will be well worth the $30 price of admission.

Until next time....

Silent Auction….

There have been a number of people out looking for donations for the silent auction at the upcoming benefit cabaret.... and we’ve been very successful. We have a wide variety of items for you to bid on, and hopefully more to come.

Thanks to all the businesses that have been so generous in supporting The Lethbridge Fire Fighters Charities Association and Cycle for Life!!

Until next time....

Support….

The announcement of my bike ride was sent to the Canadian members of the International Association of Fire Fighters about a week ago....  I am getting a number of e-mails from Fire Fighters across the country offering support in numerous ways.... Some want to ride along with me (YES Please.... join me)… others want to hold special events around the time of my arrival.... many are offering to help by finding me lodging for my stop overs and even offers to drive the support vehicle (when we get one).

Belonging to a family such as the Fire Fighters is a tremendous thing.  The support they have shown at home has been unforgettable.... now the support from Fire Fighters across the country.... How can I repay something like this....  Thank you! just doesn’t seem to be enough....

Until next time....

Benefit Concert….

This is the big news I was talking about on Monday....

On May 3rd, 2006 @ 1900 hrs Lethbridge Firefighters Charities Association along with Country 95.5 fm is presenting Aaron Lines with Trevor Panzak at the DA Electric (LCC) barn. This is a charity fundraiser cabaret ( to comply with liquor license all attendants must be 18 years of age or older) to support Cycle for Life. This will consist of a concert and silent auction with all proceeds going to Cycle for Life. Tickets will be $30.00 and will be available March 24, 2006 at Sobey’s Scenic Square and Sobey’s uplands locations. For more information or to donate items for the silent auction, you can contact me and I will do my best to help you, or get you in touch with a member of the Charities Association.

Aaron Lines is from Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada.  After performing in local pubs and nightclubs and doing extremely well, he decided to take his career to the next level. He continued working on his singing and song writing skills. After making a few contacts he began making trips to Nashville in early 1999 to hook up with other songwriters and develop his skills even further. After a lot of work and a failed contract attempt he went on the road, opening for fellow Canadian Paul Brandt’s tour, “Small Towns, Big Dreams.” He also put out a couple of independent singles, which went top ten on the Canadian charts. That tour and those singles led to his Chevy Truck Rising Star nomination at the Canadian Country Music Awards in 2001 and his Best New Country Artist nod at the 2002 Juno Awards.

His current Albums are: Aaron Lines Living Out Loud - Released: 01.07.2003 and Aaron Lines Waitin’ on the Wonderful - Released: 07.12.2005

I’m looking forward to the cabaret.... I hope to see you there!

Until next time....
