Congratulations to the Typically Canadian Group….

Last Friday, July 25th, the Typically Canadian Group rode into St. John’s, NL on the final stage of their cross Canada fund raising journey.  Along the way they met some amazing people and were able to honor them during their many stops.  To date they have raised over $100,000.00 for cancer causes across Canada.  They’ve done an amazing job and I am proud to say that I have them all as friends for life!

Kyle, Andrew, Steve, Alex - great ride!  Thanks for all you’ve done for myself and the many others you have touched during your journey.  Al, you’ve done an amazing job....  driving support for the whole crew while juggling the phone, planning/coordinating and all the other things a support person has to do on a long journey like this.  I look forward to seeing you all again.

Check out their website and blog.... http:\\www.typicallycanadian.com Lot’s of photos to check out too....  If you are so inclined, make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in your province in their name.  Help them reach their long term goal of $720,000.00

Until next time…

Latest PSA Results….

Well, It’s that time again....  Went to the doc yesterday to get the results of my latest PSA and Testosterone tests....  PSA’s went from 0.4 to 2.9 while my Testosterone was down to 6.9 from 9.8.

The testosterone isn’t a big deal… it fluctuates like that normally....  The PSA’s I’m not so happy with… although I guess I should be.  I’ve been off of treatment for 15 months now, and the PSA’s are just starting to really move. Doubling time ( the time it takes for the PSA’s to double ) is one factor that tells how aggressive the cancer is will have to be watched… obviously, the doubling time was fairly short this time as it doubled more than once in the past 3 months.  The next 3 months will be the big one… if it only doubles, things aren’t so bad… if it does the double double, then things won’t be as good, although treatment should still get me back on track. The plans right now are to wait until they reach around 10 before going back on the Hormone Deprivation....  Hopefully we can make 6 more months.  It’s kind of nice having a little T in the system.  I still have a few hot flashes, but other than that, things are pretty good.... I’m a little more stable ( I don’t cry as often at sappy movies LOL )

For now, it’s just a matter of getting rid of this cough from the pneumonia.... I want to enjoy the warm summer months without worrying about all this stuff… like that will happen LOL

Until next time....
